Annie Mariette James of Temple passed away on March 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Jonesboro, Georgia on November 9, 1946, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Bessie Lee Sykes Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Julian Robert James, Jr, a sister, Martha Faye Wheeler and brother, Thomas Leroy Johnson. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Karen and Jeff Simmons of Temple, sister, Betty J. Barron of Jonesboro and Karen E. Chastain of Griffin, Georgia, grandchildren Samantha Mason and Christian James, and a great grandchild, Turner Mason. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Services will be Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
