Mr. Bill Hinson, Jr, age 75 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016. Mr. Hinson was born in Avon Park, Florida on October 04, 1940, the son of Georgia Mae Jones Hinson and the late Bill Hinson Sr. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served honorably aboard the USS Saratoga and the USS Shangri-La. He served on the USS Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bill worked for 35 years as a test mechanic at Pratt-Whitney. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Carrollton, Georgia. Bill always met both friends and strangers with an infectious smile and warm kindness. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia Hinson; children, Stephanie Blakeney (Chuck), Bill Hinson III, and Georgette James (Jake); mother, Georgia Mae Hinson; grandchildren, Jessica Blakeney, and Karleigh and Evan James; one brother, Bobbie Hinson; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Sam Hinson and Robert Paul Hinson. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
