Mr. Buford Elmer Britt, age 82, of Holmes Rd., Carrollton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010. He was born November 22, 1927 in Carrollton, Georgia the son of the late Jeff Britt and Dora Britt. Mr. Britt was a retired well digger and a member of Message of Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie Evelyn Driver Britt and a son, William Elmer Britt. Survivors include his children, Nancy Jo Ann Key, Linda Sue Skinner both of Carrollton and Joseph Britt of Tallapoosa, Ga.; brothers, Bobby Britt and Benny Britt both of Carrollton; also 18 grandchildren and number of grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Troy Blackwelder and Rev. Jimmy Collins officiating. Music will be provided by Joe and Angela Britt. Pallbearers will be Ray Phillips, Tyler Britt, Lee Tolbert, Lee Weldon, Robert Tolbert, Phillip Britt and Morris Ronald Tolbert. Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12 PM until the funeral hour.
