Mr. Ira Ladell "Dell" Bishop, 86 of Bremen passed away December 31, 2014. Mr. Bishop was born on March 24, 1928 in Boaz, Alabama the son of the late Leonard Bishop and Jessie Bailey Bishop. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lamar Bishop and Junior Bishop and three sisters, Penny Zelusky, Ann Lou Hammond and Nell Bullard. Survivors include his wife, Helen Ruby Pruitt Bishop of Bremen; daughters, Barbara & Randy MeElwee of Bremen and Janice Wilkins & Bryan Horne of Taylorsville, NC; sister, Loraine & George McNamara of Gilbert, AZ; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 2, 2015 between the hours of 1 & 3 pm. Services will be conducted Friday, January 2, 2015 at 3 pm from Hightower's Chapel with Reverend Kermit Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Jeremy Wilkes. Chad McElwee, Joey Hogue, Mike Hogue, Bryce McElwee, Kobe McElwee and Micah Hogue will serve as pallbearers. Sam Hogue and Cason McElwee will serve as honorary pallbearers.
