Mrs. Doris Long, age 89, Carrollton, Ga, passed away June 24, 2007. She was born December 29, 1917 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Macie Daniel Hughes and Ellis "Doc" Hughes. Mrs. Long was a retired office manager having worked for Belks for 30 years and a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school and training union. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel H. "H.H." Long. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Kenneth D. & Barbara Long of McDonough, Ga.; her daughter, Brenda L. Hart of Morrow, Ga.; her sister and brother in law, Julia & Buel Stamps of Carrollton; also four grand children and one great grand child. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 11 AM from Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Waldrop and Rev. Chris King officiating. The body will lie in state at the church at 10:30AM. Pall bearers will be Charles Hart, Phil Stamps, Larry Hughes, Chuck Long, Kevin Long, Steven Long and Daniel Long. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM.
