Mrs. Dorothy Jean Martin Evans, age 85, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010. She was born on July 5, 1925 in Jackson, MS, daughter of the late William Henry and Bessie Moore Martin. She worked in the printing industry for a number of years and most recently she has been a homemaker. She was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mr. Johnnie Brent Evans, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie "Brent" Evans, Jr. and wife, Debbie and James "Henry" Evans and wife, Marcia, all of Douglasville; her brothers, Kenneth Wayne Martin and Thomas Quitman Martin, both of Jackson, MS; 5 grandchildren, Justin Brent Evans, Jason Miles Evans, Kristen Renee Richardson, Carrie Elizabeth White and Cortney Michelle Evans; 4 great grandchildren, Syler James Richardson, Abby Nikel Evans, Aubrey Evans and Lexi Evans. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:30 pm from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Pastors Ryan and Kristen Richardson officiating and rendering music. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Justin Evans, Jason Evans, Michael White and Jackie Duckworth serving as Pallbearers.
