Earl Phillips, age 76, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 21, 1936 in Carrollton, Georgia, the son of the late Verner Phillips and Millie Ballard Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a retired computer programmer with Lockheed Martin Corporation. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Whitney Nicole and Jason Cook of Carrollton, Lisa and Kim Palmer of Hiram, Candy and Mitt, III Conerly of Bowdon; sister, Martha Ann Patterson of Carrollton; brother, J. W. Phillips of Carrollton; grandchildren, Mitchell Webster, Raleigh Conerly, Sophie Conerly and Mitt Conerly, IV, Kendall Palmer; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. In accordance with the family's wishes, the body was cremated. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the B.A.D.G.E.
