Emanuel Ricardo Manny Carapia, age 24, of Douglasville, GA passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was born on September 6, 1991 in Lithia Springs, GA. He was a 2010 graduate of South Paulding High School and a December, 2011 graduate of Universal Technical Institute (UTI) of Orlando, Fl. Manny was employed at Ford Motor Company in Kennesaw Ga where he was a certified diesel and gasoline technician. He also operated a small business where he bought, fixed and sold cars. Manny was a hard working young man, dedicated to his family and friends with lots of Hopes and Dreams. He was a member of St. Theresa of The Child Jesus Catholic Church. He is survived by his father and stepmother: Jose L and Juanita Carapia of Douglasville, GA; stepfather; Guellermo Moya of Mexico; maternal grandfather: John McCourkle of Palmetto, GA; paternal grandmother: Gloria Aguilar of Guanajuato, Mexico; siblings; Celyssa Moya of Austell, GA; Cesar Carapia of Statesboro, GA., Juan M. Carapia, Luis A. Carapia (brothers) of Douglasville, GA.; Aunt and uncles; Juan R. Carapia (Karen), Angel M. Carapia (Graciela) both of Douglasville, Concepcion Chavez (Heladio) and Maria Del Carmen Carapia, Silvestre Vargas, both of Sylmar, CA along with a host of cousins, relatives and friends, including best friend and business partner, German Cervantes. He was preceded in death by his mother, Michele McCourkle Moya; paternal grandfather: Mr. Jose Carmen Carapia; maternal grandmother: Mrs. Priscilla McCourkle. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from ST. Theresa of The Child of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Jesus David Trujillo-Luna officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
