Mrs. Frances Helen Scales, age 82, of Welcome Rd., Roopville, Ga., passed away Monday, January 7, 2008. She was born September 2, 1925 in Coweta County, Georgia to the late Mattie Lillian Willingham and William Asa Willingham. Mrs. Scales was a retired custodian and bus driver having worked for Carroll County School System and a member of Midway Macedonia Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Scales and James Aubrey Yates; also a number of brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Lee & Teresa Yates of Roopville and Misty & John Runyon of Carrollton; a daughter in law, Vicki Yates of Carrollton; two sisters and a brother in law, Irene & Marion Harris and Elsie Pedigo all of Carrollton; a brother and sister in law, Grady & Mildred Willingham of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Lee Ellen & Scott Bishop, Josh & Jessica Yates and Amanda & Jennifer Yates; also four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2007 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Neil Awbrey officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Jeff Harris, Ronnie Harris, John Runyon, Brandon Harcrow, Scott Bishop and Keith Bishop. Interment will follow in Midway Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM.
