Major George Preston Campbell, age 72 of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, June 09, 2013. He was born on February 25, 1941 in Marion, South Carolina to the late Mr. Samuel Campbell and Mrs. Marquiet Love. He proudly served in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Silver Star for his dedication and service. He received a Batchelor's degree from the University of Tampa. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maggie Gibson Campbell; and multiple siblings. Survivors include daughter, Laney Seirsdale (Peter) of Pittsburg, PA.; daughter, Holly Ethan Sailors of Carrollton; daughter Michelle Strott (Thomas) of Rutledge, Ga.; son Phillip Campbell of San Fransico, Ca.; son, George Tyson Campbell of Orlando, Florida; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided for the family and friends at 91 Gina Drive Carrollton, Ga. 30116.
