Gertrude Blanche Green Gee, age 94, of Douglasville passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.  She was born on April 30, 1924 in Ballground, Georgia to the late Paul Green and the late Jamie Fouts Green.  She retired from the Douglas County Board of Education where she worked in the Chapel Hill School cafeteria.  Gertrude was Baptist by faith. Survivors are her daughters, Betty Dowis Medley of Carrollton, Joyce Dowis Little and her husband, Pete of Douglasville; grandchildren: Chuck Walters, Lisa West, Mechelle Shaw, Jason Little, Scott Garmon, Cindy Driskill; great grandchildren: Josh Edwards, Lexie Shaw, Caleb West, Ava Little, Kyra Little, Wyatt Little, Ian Garmon, Connor Garmon, Reagan Garmon, Haley Driskill, Tyler Driskell, Matthew Driskill, Mason Medley, Makala Medley; first great-great grandchild soon to arrive: Sophia Powell; sisters: Janice Cox, Jeanette Smallwood, Geneva Hamilton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gee; father of her children: Archie Dowis; daughters: Dorothy Dowis Walters and Nancy Dowis Garmon; grandson: Keith Medley, and 10 siblings. The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Monday, January 14, 2019.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 with Reverend Barry Thompson officiating.
