Mr. Harold Gaines, age 83, of Rome St., Bowdon, Ga., passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007. He was born February 17, 1924 in Lee County, AL., to the late Clara Judith Greer Gaines and the late Otis Robinson Gaines. Mr. Gaines was a WWII Army Veteran, he was a retired truck driver having worked for the Ryder Truck Company for many years, and was a member of Bowdon Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing when he was able and gardening. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy White Gaines and a sister, Margie Ramsey. Survivors include three sons and daughters in-law, Dennis & Joyce Gaines of Florence, Ky., Dr. Michael & Laura Gaines of Delta, AL., and Dr. Charles W. & Ginger Gaines of Covington, Ga.; a sister, Eleanor Hall of Columbus, Ga. ; eight grand children and seven great grand children. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 26, 2007 at 7:30 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Tony McManus officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 1 PM EST., from Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL., with Dr. Chuck Gaines officiating.
