Helen Denney Chambers, age 86 of Roopville, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014. She was born December 23, 1927 in Roosterville, Georgia to the late Mr. John Harmon Denney and Mrs. Agnes Bell Denney. She graduated from Centralhatchee High School with honors and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Heard County for seventy-four years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Bradford Chambers; a sister, Bonnell Dowdy; and a grandson, Ethan Corey Chambers. Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Herbert Chambers and Joel Bradford Chambers; and a grandson, John Bradford Chambers all of Roopville. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 01, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Antioch Baptist Church in Heard County with Bro. Tommy Rice and Bro. Jamie Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Bro. Tom Laurent officiating. Pallbearers will be Rayford Hightower, Steve Hightower, David Chambers, John Chambers, Tim Eady, Terry Fuller, and Tim Hand. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
