James Newton J. N Posey of Bremen passed away Monday, March 11, 2016 in a local hospital. He was born in Haralson County, April 8, 1921, son of the late James W. Posey and Irma Belle Grubbs Posey. Mr. Posey was a member of the Poseyville United Methodist Church, a member of the church choir and a Sunday School Teacher. He was a retired employee of Lockheed Company, where he was a planning supervisor and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Belle McGinnis Posey of Bremen; two sons, Richard and Peggy Posey of Atlanta, Alan and Bonnie Posey of Oxford and a daughter, Becky and Larry Kohl of Marietta; a brother, Bobby and Tommie Posey of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren, Whitney and Chad Capps, Evan and Leslie Anne Posey, Austin and Jessica Posey, Graham Posey, Jackson Posey, Katherine Kohl, Emily and Woody Mathis and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will be Monday, March 14 at 2:00 PM from the Poseyville United Methodist Church with Reverend Alan Posey, Mr. Richard Posey and Reverend Duane McManus officiating. Music will be furnished by the church choir under the direction of Maxine House. Evan Posey, Austin Posey, Graham Posey, Woody Mathis, Chad Capps and Randy Redding will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow In Poseyville Church Cemetery.
