Mr. J. T. " Pete" Hendrix, age 85, of Stella Circle, Mableton, Ga, passed away Thursday, July 08, 2010. He was born June 10, 1925 in Carroll County, GA., the son of the late John Thomas Hendrix and Lela Mae Fullerlove Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was a carpenter and Baptist by faith. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Ellen Spradlin Hendrix; grandson, Jason Widner; also 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Robin & Ike Jackson of Douglasville, Carol & Mike Chasteen of Dallas, Larry & Mary Hendrix of Cartersville, and Bobby & Beverly Hendrix of Dallas; sister, Helen Buchanan of Newnan; brother, C.V. "Shorty" Hendrix of Grantville; also 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Bro. David Simmons officiating. The following the gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Russell Hendrix, Curtis Hendrix, John Hendrix, Bill Hendrix and Bobby Hendrix, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be in memory of his grandson, Jason Widner. Interment will follow in Concord Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12 PM until 3 PM and 5 PM until 9 PM.
