James Edwin Sims of Mt. Zion, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, in a local hospital. He was born in Carroll County, August 27, 1930, son of the late Lee B. Sims and Carrie Musick Sims. Mr. Sims was a retired employee of the Singer Company and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Barry Sims. Survivors include his wife, Alice Norton Sims of Bremen; a son, Jimmy Randall 'Randy' Sims of Mt. Zion; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services will be Sunday, March 18 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Puckett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.
