James E. Garner, age 90, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Mr. Garner was formerly of Douglasville. He was born July 14, 1920 in Warren, Ohio to the late Dana and Frieda Garner. He was a decorated WWII Veteran, serving in the US Air Force as a rear gunner, bombardier and loadmaster. He went on to study computer technology and retired as a programmer for the for the State of Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Garner. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia 'Pat' Garner of Douglasville. Memorial Services were held July 30, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in his honor.
