Mr. James D. Harris "Coach Jim Harris", 68 of Beuna Street, Bremen passed away suddenly Friday, August 31, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Harris was born on May 20, 1939 in LaFayette, Georgia the son of the late Gordon Buck Harris and Bertha Webb Harris. A retired teacher, coach and principal of Bremen High School and Member of First United Methodist Church of Bremen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Emily Thornton Harris. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, R. Dobson & Amy Harris of Mableton; five sisters and brothers in law, Charlotte & Wayne Haggard of Clearwater, FL, Billie & Jeff Carlock of Rock Spring, GA, Elaine & Tom Leverett of Dalton, GA, Brenda & John Gass of Rock Spring, GA and Andrea & Rusty Hicks of Lafayette, GA. The family will receive friends at Branham Hall/First United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 1, 2007 between the hours of 1 & 5 and 6 & 9 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 3 PM from The First United Methodist Church of Bremen with Dr. Stanley McCain, Reverend Keith Moore and Reverend Wayne Monroe officiating. Music will be provided by Dessie Morgan, Ann Hobbs, Mrs. Martha Greer and Lynn Hodges. Bill Standifer, Jeffrey Emerson, Glenn Hoobler Gary Harper, Gene Gillespie and Reese Slaughter will serve as pallbearers. Bremen High School Football Players and Wrestler 1966-1979 will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
