Mrs. Joanne Crews, age 67, of Red Oak Dr., Carrollton, Ga., passed away Friday, September 22, 2006. She was born July 1, 1939 in Carroll County, Ga., to the late Frances Braswell Griffis and the late Charles D. Griffis. Mrs. Crews was a homemaker and a member of Consolation Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Crews; her son, Ricky Crews, and two brothers, Jimmy and Thomas Griffis. Survivors include her two daughters and a son in-law, Donna and Waymon Watson of Carrollton, and Sharon Crews of Bowdon; two sisters, Jackie Williams of Bremen and Peggy Wittington of Whitesburg; three brothers, Charles Griffis of Davingport, FL., Johnny Griffis of Carrollton and Bobby Joe Griffis of Roanoke, AL.; also nine grand children. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 12 PM from Consolation Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Powers officiating. Pallbearers will be Victor Folds, Lamar Crews, Christopher Crews, Matthew Williams, Scott Wittington, and Eddie Phillips. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
