Mr. Johnny Wayne Southern, age 57, of Lithia Springs, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009. He was born on June 11, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late John William Southern and the late Carolyn Elizabeth Kennedy Southern. He worked at Ray Loc for a number of years and was a Baptist by faith. Survivors include his wife, to whom he married November 1, 1973, Edith Faye Thiessen Southern of Lithia Springs; children, Laura Southern and Johnny William Southern, both of Lithia Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Louis Wilson of Acworth, Debra and Philip Loggins of Mableton and Karen and Arthur "Art" Kelley of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Aaliya Paige Southern, Montavious Bryant and Dontae Bryant; mother-in-law, Mary Nell Garrett of Temple; brother-in-law, Earnest Van Thiessen of Temple; Uncle, David Kennedy of College Park; aunts, Annette Ingram and Lollie Mae Donaldson, both of Douglasville. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Brother Donny Chandler officiating. Vicki Lyons will render musical selections. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
