Mr. Lowell Newman Vines, 81 of Old Draketown Trail, Temple passed away December 30, 2012. Mr. Vines was born on March 9, 1931 in Haralson County, Georgia the son of the late Newman Hobson Vines and Luna Alice Kerr Garner. He was a teacher of electronics and owner/operator of TV Repair Shop, a Veteran of The United States Army, serving in Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Doug Vines; sister, Shirley Green and brother, John Vines. He is survived by a special friend, Millie Kinney of Temple; children, Debby & Willis Lusk of Waco, Steve & Rhonda Vines of Temple and Michael & Kristi Vines of Bremen; daughter in law, Kim Vines of Tallapoosa; sister and brother in law, Joyce & Will Sorrells of Tallapoosa; brother and sister in law, Walter & Carolyn Vines of Morganton, GA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11 am from The Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Minister Larry Acuff officiating. Music will be provided by Kristi Vines. Willis Lusk, Caleb Vines, Luke Vines, Matthew Vines, Jeremy McCorkel and Christopher McCorkel will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Liberty Christian Church Cemetery.
