Sarah Marguerite Rackley, age 89, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. She was born October 31, 1927 in Atlanta, GA, daughter of the late Avery Dewey Lance and the late Cleva Cowart Lance. Marguerite graduated from Commercial High School in Atlanta in 1945. She worked as a secretary for 40 years at Permacel and then for 20 years at Carithers Flowers in Marietta. She was a member of Smyrna First Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of Judy Smith's Sunday School Class. Marguerite is survived by her daughters; Angie Brock and her husband, Dan, and Carla James and her husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Ashley Fitzgerald and her husband, Jeff; Shannon James; Danny Brock and his wife, Lisa; and Chad James and Sara Vogel; great grandchildren, Hailey James, Natalie Brock, and Colton James. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Gibbs officiating. The family will meet at 12:30 at Georgia Memorial Park for interment with Rev. Jeff Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
