Obituary

Mark Moss, age 63, passed away on January 10, 2026. Born on June 12, 1962, in Fulton County, Georgia, Mark lived a life shaped by dedication to his family, pride in his work, and the simple joys that meant the most to him.

Mark spent many years serving Fulton County Schools as a bus driver, a job he took seriously and did with care. He was responsible for safely getting countless children to and from school, and he enjoyed the daily routine and the connections he made along the way. To many families, he was a familiar and trusted face.

Outside of work, Mark found freedom on the open road. Riding his Harley Davidson was more than a hobby; it was where he felt most at peace, enjoying the ride, the quiet, and the sense of independence it brought him. He was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing stories, laughing, and being present in the moments that mattered.

Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Lynn Black Moss; his father, John A. Godbee; his mother, Reba Walden Moss; his sister, Patricia Kessler; and his brothers, James Moss and Wayne Moss; and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Kerry and Ashley Moss, Robbie Moss, and Ryan and Heather Moss; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, who were a great source of pride and joy in his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Price, Barbara Jones, and Anita Price, and his brothers, Ronnie Moss, Richard Moss, and Rob Moss.

A memorial service to honor Mark's life will be held on January 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and share memories.

Those who knew Mark will remember him as a devoted father, a dependable friend, and a man who lived life simply and sincerely. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
