Mrs. Martha Porter Arrington, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023. She was born on May 16, 1929, in Roopville, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Madison Porter and Kate Masdon Porter.

Mrs. Martha was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was lovingly known as Maw Maw and Aunt Mutt by her family. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Newnan.

Martha loved trout fishing, camping in the mountains, gardening, and her grandkids. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Her coconut cake was famous at family reunions. All her family and her neighbors loved her.

She was always telling jokes or wisecracking to make people laugh. She enjoyed going out with Miss Pat, her best friend. They went out several times a week for lunch to have fun.

In addition to her parents, she was welcomed into Heaven by her loving husband of 45 years, Dewell Arrington; sons, Danny and Donald Arrington; and eleven brothers and sisters.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter & son-in-law, Sandra & Mark Tovar; sons & daughter-in-law, Scott Arrington and Craig & Cherie Arrington; grandchildren, Chris & Lauren Tovar, Victoria Arrington, Destiny & Dustin Horton, Ashley Arrington, and Gage Arrington; and great-grandchild, Bentley Arrington.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Minister Caryl Strange officiating. Interment will follow in the Veal Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the hour of service.
