Mattie Burnese Folds, age 75, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on January 7, 2015. She was born March 1, 1939 in Carrollton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Ira Buchanan and the late Susan Allie Knott Buchanan. She was a seamstress with Fashion Star for thirty five years and was a member of the Goshen SCM Church. She was currently the reigning Miss Carrollton Nursing and Rehab. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Jewell Folds. Survivors include her children: Tony & Jan Folds and Betty & Lee Turner, all of Roopville; sister, Tommie Lou Folds, also of Carrollton; grandchildren: Toby & Anita Folds of Dallas, Georgia, Carri & Chris Newsom of Carrollton, Beverly & J. P. Dodson of Roopville, Kurtis & Brittni Dawson of Carrollton, and Jared Folds of South Carolina; and great grandchildren: Kelsey Folds of Dallas, Deverik Folds of Roopville, Crislin Newsom of Carrollton, Tyson Newsom of Carrollton, Karlee Dodson of Roopville, Kylee Dodson of Roopville, Brayden Dawson of Carrollton and Karson Dawson, also of Carrollton. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 9, 2015 at 4:00 PM from Goshen SCM Church with Rev. Wayne Webb and Mr. Wayne Mock officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 3:00 PM. Music will be rendered by Leah Gleaton and those serving as pallbearers will be J. P. Dodson, Danny Folds, Billy Folds, Mardis Smith, Alton Skipper, Gary Brand, and Ty Parmenter. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
