It is with deep and profound sadness we announce the passing of Nobie Ruth (Dill) Fleming of Lithia Springs on July 27, 2021, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, after a long illness. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Kaufman, TX. She was in her 83rd year.
Nobie was born on April 18, 1938 in Lithia Springs, GA at her grandparents' home, the first child born to her parents, Johnnie Thomas Dill and Annie Ruth (Bailey) Dill Moore.
Nobie married Elam Green "Pete", December 26, 1956. The celebrated 40 years of marriage before her beloved Pete passed away in July 1996. After marrying, they purchased their first and last home three houses down from where Nobie was born and grew up. Nobie lived on Mr. Vernon Road for 78 years until her health declined and she moved to Texas to live with her daughter.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-father, Rufus Harold Moore and brother, John C. Dill.
Nobie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, Nanny, homemaker and worker in the retail and manufacturing sector. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, was a highly skilled seamstress, enjoyed growing African violets, seeing the birds gather at her feeders and watching her favorite actor, John Wayne.
But, most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Our mom made sure we knew how much she cared. She reminded us every day how important we were to her. We knew she loved us because she took the time to tell us. Our mom was an incredible person. We feel very lucky to have been her children. And we want to express our gratitude to her for everything she did.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: David (Angela) Fleming of Elnora, IN; Holly (David) Barnes of Kaufman, TX; and Tracy (John) Needham of McConnellsburg, PA.
A beloved Nanny to seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Christopher (Ashley) Barnes of Kaufman, TX; David Fleming, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, MO; Zachary (Fiona) Fleming of Lafayette, IN; Peter (Amanda) Needham of McConnellsburg, PA; Alyshia Needham of McConnellsburg, PA; Joseph Needham of McConnellsburg, PA; Anni-Marie Fleming of Bakersfield, CA; great grandchildren: Tobias Needham of McConnellsburg, PA; Grayson Barnes of Kaufman, TX; Rosie Fleming of Lafayette, IN; and Brooklyn Barnes of Kaufman, TX.
Loving sister to Sherry (Tom) Fleming of Fairmount, GA; brother; James Moore of Lithia Springs, GA; devoted honorary son; Bart Phillips of Marietta, GA; and her faithful loyal companion until the end, Joy, her chihuahua of 14 years.
