Mr. Ray James Allen, age 73, of E. Greenwood Dr., Carrollton, Ga., passed away September 23, 2006. He was born May 6, 1933 in Carroll County, Ga., to the late Martha Ellen Williamson and the late McCardie Allen. Mr. Allen was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired insurance agent having worked for The Life of Georgia for 36 years. He also had been a member of Beulah Baptist Church having joined in August of 1947. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Williams Anthony. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Estes Allen; his children and spouses, Scotty Ray & Angie Allen of Trickum Valley, Al, April and Greg Harris of Keller, Tx., and Jill Allen of Carrollton, Ga.; a sister and brother in-law, Elizabeth and Joe Sims of Temple, Ga.; his brothers, Charles Allen of Decatur, Ga., Wilbur Allen of Carrollton, Ga., and John Williams of Griffin, Ga.; a former brother in -law, Marcus Anthony of North Carolina; also three grandchildren, Zach Harris, Jessica Harris and Kyrie Harris. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Shane Waldrep officiating. Music will be provided by Patty Pritchard. Pallbearers will be John Williams, Barry Allen, Huck Smith, Zach Harris and Paul Terrell. Interment will follow in Little Vine Cemetery.
