Roy Lamar "Marty" Carroll, age 71, of Bremen, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 17, 2016 at Tanner Medical Center Carrollton. He was born January 28, 1945, the son of the late Frank Carroll and the late Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie" Holmes Carroll. He was a retired butcher, having worked for Gilley Sausage Company and Duffey Meats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Warren Carroll and a daughter, Mae Carroll. Survivors include his son, Ricky Carroll of Bremen, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Douglas Strickland, Sr. of Carrollton, Georgia; and brother and sister-in-law, William & Joan Carroll of Collinsville, Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Curry Robinson and Minister William Spray officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Billy Spray, Jr., Bruce Spray, William Spray, and Tony Boone. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
