Ruby Deering Richards of Temple, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011. She was born August 6, 1922 in Cherokee, NC, daughter of the late James Earnest Walker and Gertrude Flemings Walker. Mrs. Richards was a retired employee of the Sewell Manufacturing Company. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wilburn Richards;her first husband, Roy Edward Deering; brothers, James Buster Walker, Mack Walker and Robert Walker. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny L. and Carolyn Deering of Temple; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Jim Warren, Temple; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Edward Teague, of Hartwell, SC, Mary Ellen and Lealon Thompson, Emerson, GA, Lilly Jane Brooks, Murphy, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene 'Gene' and Erma Walker of Murphy, NC; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren. Services will be Sunday, May 22 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Prichard officiating. Interment will follow in Little Vine Church Cemetery.
