Sandra Anita McElwaney of Tallapoosa passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 in an Atlanta hospital. She was born in Paulding County, June 22, 1964, daughter of the late Marion Dean Cohran and Margaret Louise Wisener Thomas. Mrs. McElwaney was employed by the Tyden Brooks Company formerly Stoffel Seals. Survivors include her husband, Darry Allen McElwaney of Tallaposa; sons and daughter-in-law, William Joseph And Kiersten McElwaney, Jeffrey Allen McElwaney, John Dean McElwaney and Dylan Dakota Cohran, all of Tallapoosa; sisters, Cathy Cohran of Dallas, Marie Hooper, Buchanan, Ellen Cohran, Tallapoosa, Joann White, Buchanan and Charlotte McElwaney of Buchanan and a brother, Harlan Dudley Cohran of Buchanan. Services will be Thursday, August 21 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Buddy Gentry officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Joseph McElwaney, John McElwaney, Danny McElwaney, Jesse McElwaney, Stephen Hooper and Harlan Cohran. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
