Sarah Elizabeth Yost of Bremen passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 in a local health facility. She was born in Fulton County, May 24, 1930, daughter of the late Dewey Lester Copen and Sarah Billings Copen Perkins. Mrs. Yost was a retired bookkeeper for Blue Cross Blue Shield, a Security Officer with Norred Associates and a member of the East Point Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, retired Army Master Sgt. Melvin L. Yost in 1996; a son, Douglas Lee Strickland in 2003 and a brother, Dewey Lester Copen, Jr. (Bill Copen). Survivors include her children, Deborah and Joseph English of Bremen, Steve and Jean Strickland of Statham and Ricky Strickland of Hampton; fourteen grandchildren and Blessed with a number of great, grandchildren and many close cousins. A Gathering, celebration of Mrs. Yost life, will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the home of Deborah and Joseph English.
