Shirley Rose Bryant Edwards, age 82, of Douglasville passed away Friday, February 5, 2021.  She was born in Jasper, Georgia on December 1, 1938 to the late Herbert Bryant and the late Lula Elizabeth Poole Bryant. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her wonderful husband of 63 years, Howell Edwards Sr.; children, Brenda Mitchell and husband Jerry, Teresa McCollum and husband Wayne, Howell Edwards Jr. and wife Donna, Tammy Berryhill and Dean Olson, Anthony Clay Edwards; grandchildren, Christy Portwood and husband Shane, Anthony Clay Edwards Jr. and wife Vanessa, Amy Stigleman and husband Ryan, Roxann Collett and husband Stephen, Lauren Parrish and husband Eric, Andrew Edwards and wife Lindsey, Austin Edwards, and Anna Edwards; great grandchildren, Dylan Portwood, Ryan Portwood, Addison Portwood, Abigail Parrish, Elijah "Ace" Edwards, Violet Williams, Alaina Edwards, Ariel Edwards, Aiden Edwards, Addison Edwards; sisters, Helen Pearson, Beth Ingram and husband Randall. In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her sister, Cathy Cornelison; brothers, Jimmy Bryant and Herby Bryant. The family will receive friends at Friendship Baptist Church in Winston, Georgia on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.  The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the church with Reverend Eric Evans officiating. Serving as pall bearers will be Anthony Edwards Jr., Andrew Edwards, Austin Edwards, Dylan Portwood, Donald Carnes and Kenny Carnes. Ryan Portwood will be serving as honorary pall bearer.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 8605 Downs Road, Winston, Georgia 30187.
