Joshua Taylor Woody, 27, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born on May 30, 1997, the son of Chris Woody and Faye Furgerson Woody.

In 2015, Taylor graduated from Temple High School. Following his graduation, he secured a position as a sanitation worker with the City of Carrollton where he displayed a tremendous work ethic. In his free time, Taylor cherished moments with his family, enjoying cookouts and quality time spent around the bonfire with his close-knit group of friends. An automotive enthusiast, he also dedicated time to working on cars and nurturing his passion for motorcycles.

Taylor was known for his selfless nature, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His kind and generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. However, his greatest source of joy was his family and his children, whom he treasured above all else. His untimely passing has left a void in the lives of those who held him dear, and he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his fiancé, Krystal Rutherford; daughter, Josie Woody; son, Jax Odom; brother, Jonathan Woody; sister & brother-in-law, Tiffany & Marshall Strickland; grandparents, Nancy Furgerson, Raymond Ray Sr., and Sheila Ray; nephews, Cason and Brody; niece, Sadie; five uncles; five aunts; and many cousins.

Taylor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara & Author Mitchell and Wesley Furgerson Sr., and his cousin, Blake Ray.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Taylor's life on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor TJ Pace officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
