Mrs. Cora "Theo" Capes, age 86, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012. She was born March 4, 1926 in Newnan, Georgia the daughter of the late Joseph Williams and Cora Stallings Williams. Mrs. Capes was bookkeeper and part owner along with her husband of their family owned business "The Appliance and Repair Shop". She was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband and the father of their children, Winston Mashburn and her 2nd husband, James B. Capes; and her beloved son, Felton Mashburn. Survivors include her daughters and sons in law, Pat & Stanley Harris, Bobbie & Charles Denney all of Carrollton and Linda & Ricky Carnes of Whitesburg; sister, Imogene Bone of Ray, Georgia; also 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Woodrow Hudson officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Spencer Gaston, Craig Hardegree, Chris Denney, Daniel Swain, Billy Carnes, Wes Carnes, Max Redman and Ryan Jones. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 PM until the funeral hour.
