Mr. Thomas R. Word, age 63, of Haynes Road, Franklin, GA, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007. He was born March 8, 1944 in Carroll County, GA to Arlene Barron Word Peirce and the late Raldolph Word. Mr. Word was a landscaper, plumber, and served general maintenance work and was a member of Houston Heights Baptist Church in Macon, GA. Survivors include three children and their spouses, Jeff & Amber Word of Villa Rica, GA, Beth & Mike Hill of Valley, AL, Bob & Tina Word of Ball Ground, GA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy Pyron of Carrollton, Pat & Bob Zadareky of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Melvenia & Larry White of Douglasville, GA; a brother, Calvin Word of Carrollton; and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. J.W. Wallis officiating. Pallbearers will be David Beck, Mike Barnett, Mike Bugman, Robert Harris, Bob Witter, Roger Johnson, James Driver and Daniel Denney. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
