Thomas Watson Smith Mr. Thomas Watson Smith, 60, of Winston, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008. He was born May 10, 1948 in Fitzgerald, GA, the son of the late Lester Smith and Myra Holly Smith. He was a United States Army Veteran and an electrician by trade. He was a Baptist by faith. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Smith, daughter and son-in-law: Tonya and Lee Waldrop of Tifton, GA, son: Tommy Watson Smith, Jr., of Rome, GA; step-children and their spouses: Douglas Earl and Christie Michelle Volrath, Rodney and Janni Volrath, all of Powder Springs, GA and Sonya Volrath of Winston, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce and Gene Paul and Carlese and Andy Carroll, all of Fitzgerald, GA and Jane Smith of Montana; brothers and sisters-in-law: Henry and Eve Smith of Munsford, TN, Donnie Smith of Fitzgerald, GA and Ronnie and Cathy Smith of Thomasville, Ga; grandchildren: Jessica Michelle Volrath, Amber Waldrop, Cortney Waldrop and Aiden Smith. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 4:00 pm from Hightower's Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow Thursday with a graveside service at 1:00 pm from Fitzgerald-Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm from Hightower's Memorial Chapel.
