Valdie Arthur Brown, age 89 of Maysville, Georgia, passed away September 23, 2020. He was born May 31, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia, son of the late Byron Arthur Brown and Odell Newsome Brown. He worked as a brick mason and later on worked in maintenance for Hormell Meat Packing where he retired. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Lee Bauchman Brown; daughter, Pamela Jane Emmons and her husband, Robert Emmons. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rita and James Thomas of Carrollton; sister, Corine "Pat" Roberts of Snellville; and grandchildren, Phillip Thomas of Buchanan and Leigh Pass of Maysville. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, September 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
