Obituary

Virgil Clarence Seagle, Jr. age 77, of Bremen, passed away August 20, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on November 5, 1946, in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of the late Virgil Clarence Seagle, Sr., and Mary Ellen Goggins Waddell. He was a retired Probation officer for Haralson County and a member of Bremen City Church.

Although he spent his career in law enforcement and as a probation officer, that was not who Virgil Seagle was. He was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and a devoted family man. He loved leading worship, playing bluegrass with friends, and cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. He grew up in Bremen, Georgia, and was the drum major at Bremen High School band in the 1960s. He would tell you the best decision he ever made other than accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior was marrying Linda Seagle. He would say, "She's a keeper." In his last days, he was focused on telling his family that the most important thing is "to always follow Jesus."

Survivors include his wife, Linda Bogle Seagle; children, Katherine Campbell (Tommy) of Carrollton, James Seagle (Kami) of Rockmart, and Matt Seagle (Sarah) of Carrollton; sister, Peggy Bailey (Randy) of Montgomery; grandchildren, Noah Seagle (Payton), Madelyn Seagle, and Isaac Seagle.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Services will be conducted on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Bro. Mathew Young and Bro. Larry Latimer officiating.
