Wanda Faye Wright Phillips passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. She was born on June 25, 1935, in Cullman, Alabama, to the late Lucien E. Wright and Vera Hill Wright.

Faye's greatest love was her husband of 66 years, JW Phillips. They met when JW jumped in Faye's backseat on the square in Carrollton! Together they raised 4 children and had a very happy home. Together Faye and JW owned and operated Phillips Cash & Carry Convenience Store. She was a faithful member of New Beginnings Church of God. Fay loved the Lord with all of her heart and soul. She adored her children and her grandchildren, taking every opportunity to attend all of their ballgames and events. Faye's smile and spirit lit up every room she walked in. Her kind spirit made everyone feel good and valued. She will be missed beyond measure, but our loss is Heaven's gain.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, JW Phillips; daughter, Denise Teal; granddaughter, Mallory Paige Barnett; grandson, Jason Clay Teal; sister, Florence Martin; and brothers, Edgar McDaniel, Horace Wright, and Kenneth Wright.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: David Phillips, Donald (Pam) Phillips, and Terry Jay (Lisa) Phillips; son-in-law, George Teal; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Faye's life on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jeff Maxwell officiating, and with Mrs. Lisa Phillips rendering a eulogy.

Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with Carey Phillips, Eric Jay Phillips, Anthony Jay Phillips, Ryan Jay Phillips, Bryan Phillips, and Josh Teal serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
