Wayne Ayers Johnny "Wayne" Ayers, age 67 of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1949 in Carroll County to Opal Ruthie Ayers. He was a Villa Rica High School graduate and was the owner and operator of Ayers Body Shop for more than 30 years. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Isaac Daniel Ayers and Florence Lee Ayers. He is survived by his wife, Jacque Phillips Ayers of Carrollton; his mother, Opal Ruthie Ayers of Carrollton; his children, Jason Ayers (Cynthia) of Bowdon, Tina Henry (Jason) of Whitesburg, and Greg Ayers of Cartersville; and eight grandchildren: Leah Ayers, Brooke Ayers, Payton Henry, Caleb Henry, Alexis Ayers, Aiden Ayers, Ethan Ayers, and Addyson Ayers. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Chaplain Michael Hornsby and Rev. Matt Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Clem United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Harry Ream, Alan Strickland, David Guptill, Dennis Bates, Steve McCarty, and Dan Hutchinson.
