Mr. William "Billy" Carter, age 53, of Brock Lane, Carrollton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009. He was born August 8, 1955 in Fulton County, Georgia the son of the late Betty Ruth Hawkins Carter and Emmanuel Noble Carter. Mr. Carter worked for Knotts and Associates as a mechanic. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Carter. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Jackson Carter; children, Jennifer Carter and Ryan Carter of Mt. Zion; sister, Jean Sutton of Carrollton; a special friend, his dog, "A.J."; nieces and a nephew, Tiffany Jacobs, Jennifer Sutton and Gary Sutton; great nieces, Meagan Sutton & Morghan Jacobs; great nephews, Hunter Sutton, Logan Sutton and Galtin Jacobs. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Jackson, William Knott, Rodney Latham, Gary Sutton, Hal Knott and Kelly Jacobs. In accordance with the family's wishes the body will be cremated following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 PM until 9 PM.
