William Ralph Duckett, age 66 of Douglasville, passed away, January 11, 2011. He was born July 31, 1944 in Ringgold, GA to the late William Asbury Duckett and Lela Woods Duckett. He was a Veteran of the US Army, a recipient of the Purple Heart twice and was a truck driver and mechanic by trade. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jenny Duckett and brother, David Duckett. Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law; David and Dawn Duckett of Hiram and James and Amanda Duckett of Blackshear, GA; brother: Neil Duckett of Ringgold; sisters: Carolyn and Alice, both of Rocky Face, GA, Nina of Dalton, GA and Ginger of Alabama; grandchildren: Zachary, Brittney, Lindsey and Olivia Duckett. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Dr. John Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends, Friday, January 14, 2011 from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM, the Memorial Service hour. In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated.
