Mr. Willie Gerald Edwards, age 79, of Horsley Mill Road, Carrollton, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2008. He was born May 31, 1928, in Cleburne County, AL, the son of the late Lemon Jackson Edwards and Flora Rooks Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a handyman and was Baptist by faith. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Silven Edwards and Hubert Edwards; sisters; Jewell Cooper, Lillie Hook, and Audrey Byrd. Survivors include a daughter formerly Carol Edwards; sisters, Sybil Brown of Carrollton, Thelma & G.L. Burnett of Trion, GA, Bonnie Dobbs of Bremen and Ira Dean & Lem Pendly of Monks Corner, SC; one granddaughter; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Danny Waters officiating. Pallbearers will be Lemoyne Dobbs, Larry Dobbs, Jerry Jackson, Lorren Roark, Darren Brown, and Chris Roark. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery in Cedartown, GA.
