Young Carlton "Y.C." Scarborough, age 84 of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. He was born May 23, 1936 in Troup County, Georgia, the son of the late Ruel A "Red" Scarborough and the late Ellen Estelle Higginbotham. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked in construction for over 40 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Robinson; and brothers, Gene Scarborough and Billy Scarborough. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Davis Scarborough; children: Carl and Judy Scarborough of Bremen, and Clay and Michelle Scarborough of Roopville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Bro. Homer Wilburn and Bro. Hurchell Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Clay Scarborough, Carl Scarborough, Tyler Scarborough, Xavier Scarborough, R.C. Scarborough, Robbie Wright, Danny Jackson, and John Driver. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
