Zane Lee "Poppa Zane" Bonner of Bremen passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Colquitt County, January 12, 1944, son of the late Hubert Lee Bonner and Anna Warren Jones Bonner. Mr. Bonner was a member of the Bremen First Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a former employee of BellSouth and AT&T phone companies where he worked as a toll Testman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Bonner and a brother, Bobby Jack Bonner. Survivors include his wife, Sherri Shackleford Bonner of Bremen; a daughter, Sandi Brock of Bremen; a son, Michael Bonner of Atlanta; grandchildren, Ellie Harmon and Anthony Gayton of Bremen, Hayden Brock, Bremen, Cameron Brock, Bremen; a great grandchild, Aaron Gayton of Bremen; a sister, Katherine Ann and John Jerry Atkins of Villa Rica; brothers, Gene and Norma Jean Bonner of South Carolina, Donald Leon and Janice Bonner of Canton; special friends, Sam Payton, Christian Payton and Jessie and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Services will be Sunday, May 28 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Bobbie Wren Banks officiating. Music will be furnished by the congregation under the direction of Christi Couch. The following will serve as pallbearers; Hayden Brock, Anthony Gayton, Cameron Brock, Landon Haynes, Kyle Haynes and Ellie Harmon. Jeff Brock, Aaron Gayton, Christian Payton, Grandma's Country Kitchen friends and staff, AT&T workers and Bremen First Presbyterian Church members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
