Obituary

Allen Reed, 67, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1957, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Leila Tankersley Reed Simpson and the late Billy Paul Reed.

Throughout his career, Allen dedicated many years to working as a machine technician at Sigvaris, where he was known for his strong work ethic and technical skills. In his leisure time, Allen enjoyed being outdoors; he loved fishing in local lakes and rivers and had a passion for listening to classic rock while sitting around a bonfire with his family.

Above all, Allen was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving mother, Leila Simpson; two daughters, Jamie Hambright and Amy Robinson; his son, Alan Greer; and his significant other, Diane Greer. He will be fondly remembered by his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Dwayne Wagner, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rocky and Kathy Reed, and Shone and Terry Reed. Additionally, he took immense pride in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren, who brought him endless joy, along with nieces and nephews who adored him.

In addition to his father, Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Shunda Webb, and his beloved son-in-law, Anthony Hambright, both of whom held special places in his heart.

To honor and celebrate Allen's remarkable life, a funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home.
