Betty Norvell Massey, age 81, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was born September 10, 1931 in Decatur, Georgia, the daughter of the late Marvin Brown Norvell and Josephine Holtzclaw Norvell. She was a graduate of Avondale High School and retired after a long career with USF & G Insurance Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Eugene "Gene" Massey and a sister & brother in law, Joan Norvell Reynolds and Alfred Reynolds. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Massey Hunter of Villa Rica; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Debbie Massey of Jasper, Georgia; brother & sister in law, M. B. "Buster" Norvell, Jr. and his wife Mary of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Nicki Massey Franklin and her husband Chris of Canton, Joshua Massey of Duluth, and Jeremy Massey of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Abby Franklin, Rillie Franklin, and Nina Franklin and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating. Entombment will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
