Mr. Billy W. Baughtman, age 72, of Old Mill Drive, Carrollton, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008. He was born September 13, 1935 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Gladys Cowart Baughtman and A.B. Baughtman. Mr. Baughtman was a U. S. Army Veteran and was a retired supervisor for Southwire after 40 years of service. He was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Baughtman. Survivors include his wife, Melba J. Baughtman; son and daughter in law, Michael & Jennifer Baughtman of Carrollton; brother and sister in law, R.J. & Rubye Baughtman of Marietta; brother in law, Lloyd Cook of Carrollton; also a grandson, Tyler Baughtman. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 11 AM from Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Eddie Herring and Mr. Frank Jones officiating. In the event of inclement weather the service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Pall bearers will be Junior Lott, Richard Heimbach, Dwayne Crowder, Clint Duffey, Bruer Baughtman, Ron Robinson and Ronnie Jordan.
