Bobby Harold
Tarpley
May 8, 1956 — Oct 2, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Bobby Harold Tarpley on October 2, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on May 8, 1956, Bobby was a vibrant soul whose love for life was only surpassed by his devotion to family and friends.
Bobby was a man of simple joys. His passion for collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox Cars filled his home with laughter and memories, each tiny vehicle holding a story and a smile. When the evening sun dipped below the horizon, Bobby could often be found enjoying the adventures of the Duke boys on his television, the theme echoing a sense of childhood nostalgia and good-hearted fun. His creativity blossomed in the colorful pages of his coloring books, where he shared his masterpieces with those he cherished most.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Sonja Tarpley (Craig Jones), Jennifer Isbele (Derek), David Tarpley (Denise), Sherman Tarpley (Sylvia), and Barry Turner (Patsy); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby's light sparked joy in the lives of everyone he touched. His laughter and love will echo eternally in the hearts of his family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Pat and Patricia Tarpley; his mother and step-father, Burnette North Turner and Carl Turner; and his brother, Randy Turner
As we gather to celebrate his remarkable life, we invite all who knew and loved Bobby to join us for visitation at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral service honoring his memory will be held in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with Brother Ray North and Pastor David Gray officiating. Interment will follow at West Georgia Memorial Park with Joseph Moore, Craig Brannon, Laythen Bagwell, and Isaac Shadrix serving as pallbearers.
Though he may no longer walk among us, Bobby's spirit will forever race alongside the little cars he cherished, reminding each of us to find joy in the simplest things and to hold our loved ones close. Rest well, dear Bobby, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
