Bryan William
Cox, Jr.
Dec 15, 1936 — Jun 23, 2025
Bryan William Cox, Jr., age 88, of Bremen, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at a local healthcare facility. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on December 15, 1936, the son of the late Bryan William Cox, Sr., and Kathryn Thompson Cox. He served in the Navy 14 years as an air traffic controller. His training in the Navy sparked his joy of learning and reading. He worked as an engine builder and machine tool designer for over 50 years. He had many jobs over the years working for others, but ultimately, self-employment won out. His love of working with race cars began with drag racing, sprint cars, and road course cars, then to dirt track racing, then to building race engines and race cars, and building machine tools and machine design.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Doug Cox and Jim Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Edwards Cox; his children, Keith Cox (Susan) and Angelia Oberkofler (Mike); sisters, Marilyn Younger and Katie Lindsey (James), grandchildren, Alex Oberkofler (Christina), Max Oberkofler (Whitney), Tabitha Perkins (Joe), Tiffany Hammond (Clayton), Tristen Holland and Tori Ann Cox; great-grandchildren, Alden, Ryker, Daxon, Ezri, Mia, Angelica, Aurora, Jackson, and Maizy.
